The Manager, Health Insights and Outcomes will be responsible for supporting data-driven decision making within the Manulife Group Benefits business through the tracking of health trends and measurement of health outcomes associated with various initiatives. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between our data, advanced analytics, marketing and product & platform teams to help translate data into insights that will help us shape our health outcomes strategy at the member and sponsor level, and measure the impact of our interventions, products, services, and pilots.

Manager, Health Insights and Outcomes will:

  • Sponsor Reporting : Collaborate closely with Data, Distribution, and Organizational Health teams to ensure a meaningful view of sponsor information that supports plan design and decision-making. Support ongoing tracking of outcomes to understand impact of health interventions. Support monitoring of health dashboards to proactively identify new areas of collaboration with sponsors, member health interventions, etc.

  • Data Insights and Recommendations : Synthesize Manulife claims data, external research, and market trends to validate hypotheses and support opportunity sizing and business case development. Communicate/visualize insights and strategic recommendations to inform health interventions, pilots, nudges, and executive presentations related to health outcomes.

  • Health Outcomes Strategy : Inform evolution of sponsor and member trend reports and other health outcome outputs, including innovative use of tools and resources, monitoring of competitive landscape, and regular assessment of effectiveness of measurement tools/methods.

This is a Hybrid opportunity in our Toronto or Waterloo office where you will come into the office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and can work from home on Monday and Friday.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with various cross-functional teams, you will be central in helping us identify key insights on health trends and outcomes, as well as using these insights to drive our member and sponsor facing health outcome strategies:

  • Produce sponsor-level reports in collaboration with our Data and Reporting teams to provide a clear picture of member health, driving factors of growth, opportunities for intervention, and areas where plan design can be enhance. Ensure the information provided to sponsors is relevant and helps drive action.

  • Support the design / build / maintenance of analytics reports and dashboards with regular review to identify key insights. Inform evolution of sponsor reports through ongoing market scans and regular assessment/evaluation, supporting roadmaps to add features.

  • Build and manage measurement strategies for health interventions and pilots, and synthesize findings to inform case studies and thought leadership.

  • Analyze member data to support the development of member targeting strategies, including segmentation, sizing, and intervention design to drive outcomes. Conduct analysis of member data trends to inform health strategy, partnerships strategy, and product design.

  • Adopt a solution-focused mindset to develop hypotheses, gather requirements, conduct analyses, interpret results, and translate data into insights to help drive our health outcomes strategy.

  • Build effective communication material in PowerPoint / BI Tools / Excel to communicate findings to non-technical audiences.

  • Work closely with sponsor- and partner-facing teams to understand impact of health interventions on outcomes (effectiveness), and create frameworks/strategies for ongoing tracking and reporting of health data.

  • Partner with data and analytics teams to design repeatable frameworks and measurement systems. Work with business stakeholders to ensure outcomes reporting can be executed within Manulife’s data sources and systems, privacy regulations, and information sharing parameters. Inform new ways of working with data across the business and future roadmaps to add capabilities.

  • Support proactive tracking and monitoring of potential intervention areas to inform new strategies at the member and sponsor levels.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience, including strategic analytics and insights, or comparable roles. Management consulting experience is considered an asset.

  • University degree required.

  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with technology platforms, user engagement KPIs and metrics, engagement tactics, and budgeting.

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and translate data into meaningful insights.

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex data trends into understandable concepts.

  • Ability to generate high-quality presentations, materials, and artefacts for diverse internal and external audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability and confidence to deliver and present to senior leadership.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical thinking ability.

  • Exceptional relationship-building skills and proven experience working with cross-functional teams (product, technology, marketing, sales, operations).

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple competing priorities, and adapt to changing demands.

  • High level of self-motivation with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • Highly developed financial acumen and business orientation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An MBA, MMA, or other business/data/analytics education would be beneficial.

Salary range is expected to be between

$86,250.00 CAD - $155,250.00 CAD
