Name and description of the hiring department

HR Services team is responsible for providing quality support to employees of Bell Canada and its subsidiaries. These services include payroll administration, human resources transactions, management of unionized employee transfers, including eligibility for the Employee Discount Plan.

Job Duties / Accountabilities

The Payroll Associate - Support Center is responsible for providing excellent customer service while ensuring that all payroll-related queries and questions are answered, and that our customers are redirected when necessary. The Payroll Associate - Support Center is also responsible for ensuring that the recommendations and advice offered to customers, as well as the processing of requests, contribute positively to the efficiency of payroll production and transactions.

 

Duties and responsibilities of the Payroll Assistant - Support Center include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Answer general payroll questions and requests
  • Redirect requests to the appropriate departments or services as needed
  • Performing what can sometimes be complex analyses
  • Understand payroll processing and validation times
  • Be able to explain tax slips while respecting laws, government requirements and collective agreements
  • Answer questions about employee compensation with integrity and accuracy
  • Complete declarations sent to various government agencies
  • Take the necessary measures to avoid generating additional losses
  • Accurately complete the various documents and carry out the necessary follow-ups
  • Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Understand and coordinate compensation in detail
  • Explain the precise and efficient processing of the various payroll components for employees of Bell and its subsidiaries

  • Analyze various reports and make the necessary corrections
  • Understand and be able to perform compensation calculations from gross to net pay, vacation calculations, etc
  • Maintain the satisfaction and confidence of Bell and its subsidiaries' employees
  • Analyze and process requests from various internal and external sources and be able to justify discrepancies while respecting service agreements
  • Produce specific reports, tax slips and all related documents for active employees, employees on sick leave and retirees using various applications
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with various collective agreements and government legislation
  • Resolve first-line complaints, as well as unusual and complex situations
  • Negotiate reimbursement agreements with employees

Essential Qualifications / Competencies

  • Knowledge of payroll compliance legislation
  • General knowledge of payroll (understand and know how to explain pay stub, tax slips, etc.)
  • Have completed or be in the process of obtaining ACP (Canadian Payroll Association) training or equivalency or a minimum of 3 years experience job in a complex payroll environment
  • Experience in a Call Center environment
  • Effective organizational, planning and work prioritization skills
  • Proven discretion and respect for confidential information
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and as a team member according to the needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail with a view to ensuring the accuracy of information provided to customers
  • Ability to identify obstacles, take appropriate action, demonstrate initiative, exercise good judgment and propose solutions and improvements to processes
  • Ability to work and develop in a constantly changing environment
  • Intermediate MS Excel (V-Look-up, PivotTable). Validation test of knowledge will be given
  • Knowledge of English without any significant limitation. In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English speaking stakeholders across Canada

Preferred Qualifications / Competencies

  • Have a minimum of one year experience in a high-volume contact center environment
  • Experience Time Management (time administrator in SAP)
  • Intermediate MS Word
  • Knowledge of SAP P90/ SAP/ADP-Workforce Now/Dayforce

Working Conditions

  • Work 7.5 hours from 7H30 am to 5h00 pm
  • Overtime occasional

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
