The Senior Manager, GTB Finance Forecasting & Analysis is part of the GTB Finance Financial Planning & Analysis (GTB FP&A) team responsible for providing value-added analytical and strategic support related to Canadian Banking and GBM. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, the Senior Manager is responsible for planning and forecasting activities for the GTB business embedded in Business & Commercial Banking (in CB) and Corporate (GBM) and providing timely, reliable analysis and recommendations to senior executives to assist them in decision making. In addition, the Senior Manager provides support to the business management and the business line CFO teams with reporting, analysis and responding to ad hoc requests.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Financial Forecasting and Planning – Prepare and update financial plans, forecasts, stress tests, and other forward-looking financial outlooks. Identify issues and provide commentary related to financial results and/or forecasts.
  • Financial Reporting – Participate in the preparation of reliable financial reports on a timely basis for use by GBM executives. This includes, but is not limited to, Quarterly Blue Book, Monthly Reporting package, Quarterly and Monthly Management meeting decks, ALCO presentations, and Weekly Dashboards.
  • Management Information Systems – Work collaboratively with other stakeholders in GTB to access MIS data required to perform the duties of the position including data related to profitability and performance.
  • Ad Hoc Requests – Support ad hoc requests from Executive Management, auditors, regulators, ratings agencies, research analysts and other external parties as required. Independently prepare and provide analytical support including analysis and data related to business line, product, or geographies.
  • Team Environment – Contribute to an environment in which the team works together to produce tailored and value-added strategic analysis while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
 

  • University degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration, or Chartered Financial Analyst designation, Chartered Professional Accountant designation, or comparable experience.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of business line and/or Finance experience. 
  • Understanding of Business Banking business lines, financial reporting process, planning and analysis, and legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills including financial modelling.
  • Advanced presentation and communication skills and proven ability to provide insightful and influential analysis to Senior Management.
  • Ability to balance competing or conflicting goals of various departments/stakeholders, requiring a mature, diplomatic approach and highly developed negotiation and influencing skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to work in a team environment under tight deadlines, in some cases on special projects requiring innovative analysis and solutions.
  • Excellent relationship building and strategic influencing skills to manage stakeholders in the business line and front office.
