The Rail Construction Program is providing oversight to Stage 2 of the City of Ottawa’s Light Rail Transit program: Confederation Line extension East and West, by East West Connectors, and Trillium Line Extension by TNext. The Rail Construction Program is responsible to ensure that all Project Agreement requirements are delivered and that all City Departments meet their responsibilities in preparation for start of service. These are technically challenging and complex projects requiring rapid problem resolution combined with a focus on the long-term operability and maintainability of the system.
The Systems Branch is seeking a Project Manager to assist with oversight of the Rail infrastructure (Mechanical and Electrical, Fire systems) elements of primarily Confederation Line extension East and West projects. Working with specialists and experts, the Project Manager will ensure compliance with the Project Agreements and the achievement of key RCP stakeholders’ expectations. The Project Manager will attend coordination meetings such as Testing and Commissioning and Fire and Life, Communication Systems Working Groups, and ensure that action is taken to identify and/or resolve any issues to the scope of work.
The Project Manager provides technical expertise and knowledge of the operational and technical needs of the departmental clients through all phases of project delivery/lifecycle. The incumbent participates in project identification/scoping, prioritization, planning, scheduling, risk management, change management, monitoring, tracking and reporting.
Completion of 4 year university degree in Engineering or Applied Science or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the planning, design and construction of municipal infrastructure, including a minimum of 3 years of project management experience
