Location: Ontario (Remote, travel required for 1–2 annual onsite visits to Kenora, Sault Ste. Marie, Cornwall, and Windsor)
Language: Excellent written and spoken English

About the Opportunity

Join a forward-thinking public sector team dedicated to improving Indigenous wellness and health equity across Ontario. In this role, you’ll support the development and implementation of a culturally responsive Indigenous health model, helping communities access mental health and substance use services that respect traditional practices and Indigenous perspectives.

You will work alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team and engage with Indigenous leaders, healthcare providers, and community organizations. Your contributions will have a meaningful impact, supporting communities to thrive and ensuring that youth mental health initiatives are delivered with care, respect, and cultural awareness.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll collaborate with Indigenous communities and stakeholders to implement and refine a culturally responsive health model.
  • You’ll build and maintain strong partnerships with Indigenous organizations, healthcare providers, and community leaders to support program success.
  • You’ll contribute to program delivery by supporting mental health and substance use initiatives, integrated care strategies, and culturally appropriate services.
  • You’ll ensure Indigenous perspectives and traditional wellness practices are embedded in all initiatives.
  • You’ll engage with government agencies and community partners to drive collaboration and meaningful outcomes.
  • You’ll participate in 1–2 annual onsite visits to key communities, with travel and accommodations provided.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in public health, youth mental health, Indigenous wellness, or health equity.
  • Lived experience or significant professional experience working with Indigenous communities.
  • Hands-on experience in mental health, substance use services, social services, or community-based health initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Ontario’s youth mental health system and principles of equity, inclusion, and social justice.
  • Experience in program implementation, project management, or public health initiatives.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for travel.
  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and independent work skills.
