Purpose


The Business Insight (BI) manager will lead BI projects, in support of the IB Retail team, and drive accelerated benefits for our customers. The BI Manager ensures all strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.


Supports and contributes to the overall success of the International Banking (IB) analytics initiatives by generating key insights throughout customer lifecycle, aligned with the business strategies and objectives. Takes ownership of complete work streams within BI Initiatives to answer key relevant questions from Senior Leadership.


BI Manager, IB Analytics will work with cross functional teams from various business lines in Canada and IB markets. This role requires business knowledge combined with data mining, and visual data techniques to improve the data availability and BI capabilities that will enhance the decision-making process while creating business value.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: 

 

  • Coordinate with our key partners in International Banking and across the division the review and collection of data for the different IB Analytics initiatives
  • Review data to ensure its integrity for data analysis to deliver business insights and validate hypotheses.
  • Perform the analysis process to extract actionable business insights and issue recommendations, if applicable
  • Translate the findings into executive communications
  • Serve as a thought partner and strategic advisor to maximize analytics’ impact and ensure implementation of strategic priorities, providing key business and customer insights
  • Champion a data-driven customer focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Collaborate with Toronto-based and in country teams supporting IB Analytics strategy and provide advisory support. This could take 2 approaches:
  • Low-touch support; where the incumbent will be providing advisory services, e.g. participating in meetings for key analytics initiatives, engaging in specific work streams of the projects
  • High-touch support; where the incumbent will be on-the-ground supporting analytics delivery in specific businesses within International Banking
  • Perform data-driven analyses to diagnose issues or roadblocks to analytics projects, synthesize findings, and present clear recommendations to mitigate risks
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships / partnerships with key stakeholders including senior leaders and analytics functional teams across the organization

  • Supports International Banking: Pacific Alliance Countries, Caribbean, Central America, and Uruguay 
  • Contributes to large, complex projects and initiatives spanning numerous IB Markets, business lines and functional areas, and involving large numbers of resources with diverse skills, abilities, backgrounds, and competencies

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have/can:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in financial services, business intelligence and/or data engineering
  • Working knowledge of Retail Banking products: lending, deposits and complementary products and services offered by other financial institutions and niche competitors
  • Fluency in Spanish is required
  • Self-motivated, driven and impact-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, interpret results and communicate in simple terms
  • Practical experience with Excel, SQL, Power BI, data processing, database programming and data analytics
  • Sharp interpersonal skills, leadership and influencing capabilities in multi-cultural environments
