Responsible for leading the design and delivery of executive development solutions and processes that build capabilities for sustainable impact into the future. This role plays a pivotal role in advancing the Scotiabank’ Leadership strategy through executive development solutions that are grounded in business outcomes and reinforce our ScotiaBond.

 

Additionally, this role oversees initiatives to continuously enhance Executive Development Programs, ensuring alignment with established objectives and goals for learning. 


 Is this role right for you? In this role you will:   

  • Develops and implements a multi-year leadership development strategy that enhances capabilities and knowledge in alignment with Scotiabank’s leadership strategy and business objectives
  • Leads the design and delivery of innovative executive development programs related to formal learning, coaching, and skill assessments
  • Ensures the executive learning curriculum supports enterprise leadership succession planning and provides impactful learning experiences for all leadership levels
  • As the subject matter expert on executive development, leads research on best-in-class approaches to develop capabilities and cultivate strong a leadership bench, providing insights about trends, innovations, learning content, assessment and delivery
  • Evaluates the effectiveness and ROI of executive development solutions; content, delivery, impact and costs
  • Oversees and provides guidance to the Executive Leadership Development team on program design and implementation, including vendor management, budget, logistics, and communication
  • Partners with Talent Strategy COE (including Global Learning and Inclusion), HR Business Partners, and other stakeholders to align talent objectives with business needs and goals
  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations within his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in leadership development or talent management, with a proven track record of designing, delivering, and implementing successful leadership programs in a global organization
  • Post-secondary Degree or Masters in Human Resources or Business or related field
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of Bank policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of Organizational structure and internal dynamics
  • Extensive experience and comfort working with executives
  • Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and results
  • Exceptional influencing and relationship building skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to identify recommendations from data
  • Driving innovative solutions that create value for HR partners
  • Ability to think strategically and cultivate networks and relationships
  • Manage vendor relationships
