The mandate of the Standards and Quality Management Branch encompasses the overall quality management of infrastructure projects, including the creation, implementation, monitoring, and updating of related plans, policies, guidelines, systems, processes, and practices. This involves developing and maintaining City design and construction standards, project and quality management processes, materials and workmanship standards, and project delivery practices. Additionally, the branch ensures construction quality assurance through inspection and testing, oversees engineering standards for both linear and vertical infrastructure, and maintains the Infrastructure Quality Management System. It also provides support to Infrastructure Services Project Managers through all project phases, serves as a technical excellence center for geotechnical, environmental, and structural engineering and contracts, and liaises with peer municipalities, industry, and stakeholders to maintain best-in-class infrastructure.
You are responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of best management practices in the areas of environmental and geotechnical engineering. You provide technical advice and professional expertise, and coordinate multi-disciplinary projects where needed, to assess subsurface conditions, risks and regulatory requirements to support the delivery of Infrastructure Services capital projects.
Completion of Master's degree in geotechnical or environmental engineering.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant combined professional experience in geotechnical and environmental engineering.
