Reporting to the Managing Editor, this multi-skilled and motivated individual will be team player, with the core competencies, skills and potential to create multi-platform news content for CTV Regina. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting, writing, and producing news content for CTV Regina’s digital and TV platforms. 
  • Editing and uploading dynamic and engaging video content for ctvnewsregina.ca, YouTube, and other platforms 
  • Anchoring the late evening newscast, including producing show lineups, script writing and voicing
  • Field Reporting as required, including ENG camera operation, and digital video editing
  • Generating and pitching original story ideas daily, focusing on local topics
  • Live reporting as require
  • Anchoring other newscasts and presenting weather as required
  • Editorial decision making 
  • Developing & maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in various areas of the local market (economic, political, retail, industrial, law enforcement)
  • Other related duties as assigned
 

Critical Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary program and/or related news/sports experience
  • Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills 
  • Demonstrated organizational skills; the ability to work independently
  • Solid editorial judgment 
  • Computer literacy; experience in iNews, Abobe Suite, Avid, and familiarity with CP style a definite asset
  • Ability to work well in a deadline-driven team environment 

 

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
