Our energy client is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead complex procurement initiatives involving consulting services and engineered products.
The ideal candidate will have experience with the development and execution of strategic sourcing plans, negotiating and implementing major contracts, and the delivery of procurement solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement leader who thrives in a technically intensive and highly collaborative environment.
This is a hybrid position located in Toronto, ON (3 days on-site, 2 days WFH).
Responsibilities: - Lead strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Develop, negotiate, and implement complex supplier master agreements and high-value contracts.
- Provide procurement planning and contract support for large-scale and technical projects.
- Conduct market analysis, assess vendor capabilities, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Guide and support staff on procurement processes, contract standards, vendor qualification, and quality requirements.
- Supervise and develop a team of procurement professionals with clear performance objectives and coaching.
- Collaborate with legal, risk, finance, and other experts in the negotiation of major agreements.
- Manage inspection, testing, quality assurance, and contract administration processes.
- Support sustainability and cost-efficiency through material disposal and vendor lifecycle management.
- Advise senior leadership on sourcing strategies and contract awards.
- Drive continuous improvement and compliance across procurement processes and supply chain governance.
- Promote health and safety in all supply chain activities.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing and procurement.
- Proven ability to manage technically complex procurement for high-value consulting and engineered products.
- Experience in contract negotiation, drafting, and vendor relationship management.
- Experience supervising and mentoring procurement teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient using ERP systems and knowledgeable on procurement process flows; ERP implementation experience is an asset.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
