We are seeking a Data Governance Lead to play a critical role in a large-scale system transformation project within the healthcare and professional regulation sector. This role is responsible for leading all aspects of data conversion and governance, ensuring high-quality data migration from legacy systems to a new platform. The ideal candidate has deep experience in data management and excels at collaborating with technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all data conversion activities within the project team.

  • Define and execute data migration scope, strategy, and execution plan.

  • Extract data from legacy systems in alignment with vendor specifications.

  • Validate data extracts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity.

  • Conduct data profiling, cleansing, and preparation to meet quality standards.

  • Collaborate with business SMEs, process owners, and data stewards for data enrichment and sign-off.

  • Identify data risks and implement governance controls to mitigate them.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and system integrators throughout the migration lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in data management, data conversion, and transformation projects.

  • Proficiency with ETL tools and data validation techniques.

  • Strong SQL scripting and technical skills in data extraction and preparation.

  • Proven success in leading data initiatives in SaaS/cloud environments.

  • Experience working in cross-functional project teams and vendor coordination.

  • Familiarity with healthcare, regulatory, or public sector environments is an asset.

  • Detail-oriented and driven by deliverables.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex project environment.

Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have):

  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)

  • DAMA Certification

  • PMP, Agile, or Scrum Certification
