Purpose

Responsible for maintaining the relevance and strategic direction of International Banking Retail, adapting to evolving business conditions and fostering strategic partnerships. This role involves leading and managing high-impact cross-functional programs and initiatives as well as providing governance support to the International Banking Retail team. The incumbent will work closely with Segment, Product, Channel and Country Leaders as well as support functions to align business objectives and financial goals.

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Maintains International Banking Retail strategy up to date, considering internal and external developments and considerations.

 

  • Partners with diverse stakeholders across the organization to champion understanding and alignment of strategic goals and progress.

 

  • Conducts market research and competitive analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive innovation within the organization.

 

  • Owns management and oversight of strategic enablers such as International Banking Retail segmentation framework and customer experience platform.

 

  • Leads governance framework to facilitate decision making process and alignment to International Banking Retail’s strategy.

 

  • Acts as the main liaison of International Banking Retail for enterprise-wide cross-functional programs and initiatives.

 

  • Provides strategic and operational support to Head of International Banking Retail.

 

  • Monitors progress and provides visibility of International Banking Retail audit calendar plan.

 

  • Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Banks risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Banks risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.

 

  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct

 

  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vison/values/business strategy, and managing succession and development planning for the team.

 

 

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred in Business/Finance.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ leadership experience in the financial sector.
  • Demonstrated strategic influencing ability, and a high degree of collaboration with senior leadership, different countries, business lines and multiple teams.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with a result-oriented and problem-solving mindset.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and development of frameworks to drive decision making.
  • Proven experience in strategy development and partner management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: can convey messages in a clear, concise and succinct manner, select the best method of communication to influence business decisions. Experience in applying agile principles and practices.
  • Supports business line of 12MM clients, ~6.3B in Revenue, ~3.7B in Expenses and ~800MM in NIAEH.
  • Partners with diverse central and local teams supporting 15 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Partners with diverse Canadian Banking functions to foster enterprise alignment.
  • Leads a team of 3 people.

 

 

Work Arrangement:

  •  Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
  • Periodic travel to international locations.
