Agilus is recruiting for a Indigenous Relations Advisor in the Oil and Gas Sector in Prince George, British Columbia.
Are you interested in playing a key role in Indigenous and stakeholder engagement, building and maintaining relationships in our projects and operations? We are looking for an individual to develop and implement engagement plans and execute regulatory requirements. You will build, maintain and cultivate relationships and engagement activities with influential leadership within local and regional communities, organizations and Indigenous groups as well as support our regulatory applications from an engagement perspective.
A typical day:
Accountable for the strategy and direction of engagement within the regional area of Prince George coordinating with internal team members in other departments.
Work with partners within and outside Public Affairs, Communications (PACS) (i.e. Supply Chain Management, Project Execution) to develop engagement strategies, approaches and tools to improve efficiencies and minimize risk related to Community and Indigenous Engagement.
Develop strategy and execute regulatory requirements in consultation and engagement and document effectively the outcomes, including drafting and preparing submissions to regulators.
Design and lead engagement in communities in the field with individuals, communities, Indigenous groups and local governments and organizations in support of business goals and project objectives, working collaboratively with internal functions such as Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Business Development and Operations.
Lead or assist with development and implementation of specific engagement plans, including project specific engagement plans and Regional Engagement Plans, strategies, talking points for media spokesperson and related budgets that reflect the interests of both the Company and the potentially affected stakeholder/Indigenous groups. Meet regulatory requirements and build, maintain and improve the companies reputation as a trusted corporate citizen.
Successful candidates will have:
7 or more years of directly related work experience in Indigenous and/or stakeholder engagement, preferably in the resources sector, particularly in the energy industry/energy transportation infrastructure sector.
University degree from a related post-secondary program
Knowledge of regulatory and government processes and asset and experience in participating in regulatory processes are an asset.
Strong social skills, including consultation, negotiation, facilitation, risk communication and conflict resolution.
Experience in and understanding of a large, public company with operations in multiple regions.
Proven written and verbal communication, presentation and organizational abilities.

Total rewards:
$45.00 - $60.00 hourly
Prince George (heavily preferred), Abbotsford, Hope, Kamloops, or Fort St. John
On site hybrid (Mon, Tue, Thu in office)
1 year contract (with a possibility of extension)
Work Conditions: Office based with frequent travel.
Attends after-hours municipal, local government and community events on personal and business time throughout the year.
