The Director, Profitability Optimization and Loan Portfolio Management, plays a critical role in driving key initiatives that support profitable asset growth and manages exposure impacts across the Canadian Commercial Banking loan portfolio through the management of profitability models, pricing guidelines, and robust governance frameworks.
The Profitability Optimization and Loan Portfolio Management team serves as a strategic partner to client coverage teams, developing strategies and tactics to enhance deal profitability. It oversees revenue streams such as loan fees and net interest income and represents the business line in Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) and Capital Allocation assessments. The Director acts as a primary liaison for Finance, Global Risk Management, Treasury, Capital Management, Analytics, Technology, and third-party vendors, ensuring P&L and balance sheet management are aligned with business objectives. The role also supports partners in identifying and resolving system issues to improve efficiency and client experience.
The incumbent brings strong technical, financial, and analytical expertise, along with credit knowledge, business acumen, and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad audience, including Scotiabank executives. Strong leadership and relationship building capabilities are essential, as is deep knowledge of Commercial Banking products, services, and operations.
