Under the direction of the Senior Manager Category, the Assistant Category Manager provides support with planning, organizing, managing and evaluating the purchasing, retail pricing, and promotion of assigned categories and departments. She/he provides assistance with the implementation of assortment, allocation, space and replenishment strategies for assigned categories and departments. The Assistant Category Manager assists in the management of vendor relationships and negotiations. She/he assists with the procurement of products and the handling of item creation and purchasing, including but not limited to payment terms, shipping and delivery, rebates, advertising, cost and
retail pricing. She/he implements category strategies based on customer needs, industry trends, competition and financial goals, including sales and gross profit.
Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma in business administration, commerce, economics, buying and merchandising, or related field, AND several years of experience in retail including supervision and/or management

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
