Engineer in Security Platform Engineering, Orchestration and Logistics team plays a critical role in shaping and communicating technical information, leading security platform related projects, executive reports, and data-driven insights. This position is essential for ensuring effective communication within the team and with stakeholders, as well as contributing to the development of key documentation and dashboards. to have a strong command of various software tools, including Office 365, Power BI, and Jira, and possess exceptional communication and project management skills to support the team's objectives.

 


Is this role right for you?

  • Leverage expertise in Power BI, Office 365 applications, including Excel, Visio, SharePoint, and other relevant software, to visualize and analyze key performance indicators, security metrics, and project data and efficiently manage, organize, and present information. 
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, define and update process and procedures, create executive reports, and user-friendly dashboards to support cyber security engineering projects. 
  • Have ability to understand application and infrastructure concepts, and familiar with cloud technologies to incorporate processes into security strategies and document security solutions implementation. 
  • Collaborate closely with members of the security engineering and development team to align content strategy with project goals and objectives.  Provide support and assistance as needed to achieve team objectives.
  • Collaborate with SPE Operation and Support  team members and vendors to understand operational challenges and requirements and assist with solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • Knowledge of Network Security, architecture, and Security applications infrastructure 
  • Proficiency in Office 365 tools (Excel, Visio, SharePoint, PowerBI and so on).
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps for project tracking and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with Cloud security and technologies.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management, change management, operational, regulatory and IT risk management.
  • Knowledge of log onboarding concepts and techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective project management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • 5 + years of experience in IT 
  • 3+ Years experience in leading and participating in development of security related platforms 
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Good to have experience working with Linux, Shell, Python, SQL, Ansible, etc.
  • Security related Certifications will be advantage.
