The Global Wealth Management (GWM) Senior Manager, Business Systems Manager will be the owner and relationship manager for a portfolio of applications servicing global wealth management. This role will focus on operational resilience, end-to-end operational processes, business continuity, incident/problem management, and leading preventative measures. The Senior Manager will ensure all activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. They will provide operational oversight and collaborate with internal business, technology stakeholders, and vendors to ensure the stability and evolution of the applications and services rendered.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Act as the overall application owner and relationship manager for a portfolio of applications including: Pure Wealth Fees, WM Performance, GIC Dataphile, Brandware Forms, FIT-Fixed Income trading, PriceMetrix, Bloomberg-exchange pricing, and others.
  • Lead the application team, including offshore resources, for ongoing support and overnight batch monitoring.
  • Review incidents and identify corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance on process improvements and automation strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and coordinate server patching activities and certificate renewals.
  • Manage the change management process for the applications.
  • Communicate with business stakeholders on application changes and issues.
  • Define and drive the roadmap for the application portfolio, aligning it with overall business and regulatory strategies.
  • Coordinate disaster recovery (DR) testing for supported applications.
  • Manage vendor contracts, approvals, and relationships, including contract renewals and invoice processing.
  • Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, including cloud migration planning and execution, in collaboration with enterprise architecture and infrastructure teams.
  • Ensure application readiness and compatibility with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS), and support hybrid environments during transition phases.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience working with financial services applications, with a strong focus on regulatory and operational systems.
  • Deep understanding of Global Wealth business units (brokerages, asset management, estates and trust, private banking, mutual fund dealers, and International Wealth Management), including operational processes, regulatory obligations, and risk governance.
  • Working experience and knowledge of quality assurance processes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to prepare reports, deliver presentations, and interact with GWM business units and other departments.
  • Strong relationship-building competencies to maintain productive partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills and a proven track record of meeting deliverables.
  • Effective leadership and project management skills.
  • Expert analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A curious mindset, results-oriented, creative, and highly motivated.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure management, cloud migration strategies, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS), infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps practices is an asset.
