Assisted Living and Social Services provides supports for seniors, families and communities,and helps Albertans access disability services, continuing care, financial supports, services for the homeless, and other social-based programs. This ministry supports Albertans through a person-centred, integrated service delivery model that recognizes the unique circumstances, experiences and strengths of individuals and families. Forming part of the Assisted Living Alberta (ALA) Transformation Branch, these positions are pivotal to supporting the stand-up and operationalization of ALA. ALA is Alberta’s new provincial continuing care agency established as a key pillar of the overall refocusing of Alberta’s health care system. ALA will provide Albertans access to a comprehensive, holistic system of continuing care with a full range of wrap-around services, including medical and non-medical supports, home care, community care and social services. Reporting to one of the Directors in the Assisted Living Alberta Transformation Branch, the Senior Policy Analyst provides leadership, policy analysis and advice on strategic policy development and integration in the six policy domains under the strategic mandate of the Ministry of Assisted Living and Social Services (ALSS). The Senior Policy Analyst is responsible for project management and advanced policy and program work associated with the development, review, evaluation, and implementation of provincial ALSS policy and programs.
Senior Policy Analyst position requires a high level of creativity, innovation, independent research and ability to identify implications define issues and develop creative and appropriate solutions. This position will provide leadership in support of government and ministry priorities and in the development of forward looking, innovative social policy infrastructure that is relevant, integrated and sustainable.

This competition will be used to fill two full-time temporary positions, duration is 2 years.
Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 8:15 am -4:30 pm (36.25 hours/week)
