The Opportunity:

The Global High-Net-Worth (Global HNW) Life Insurance Business was formed in 2023 to demonstrate Manulife’s enterprise-wide capabilities in serving this customer segment.  By bringing together Manulife Bermuda with Manulife Hong Kong’s and Manulife Singapore’s International Brokerage Channel, the GHNW business can capitalize on the strengths of the three business units to accelerate growth in the HNW and Ultra HNW markets. 

Reporting to the Senior Director, Product Management, Global High-Net-Worth, with matrix accountability to the In Force Management Lead, this position will be accountable for the overall health of the in force blocks in Manulife Bermuda High-Net-Worth, while building into our company DNA the active management of these blocks as equal priority to new business, and establishing a culture of execution to provide ongoing value.

The primary metrics to be tracked in this role will be absolute in force earnings, and particularly the uplift achieved through in force management activities (a global KPI), along with several enabling health measures such as persistency rates.

This role will involve a combination of reporting, negotiation, and execution to drive pivotal initiatives and influence internal / external partners to conserve business. This role will support the In-force Management Lead in the implementation of initiatives, drive operational efficiency and provide outreach to firms to conserve business.

Responsibilities:
 

  • Coordinate with the Inforce Management Lead and Inforce Service to develop and implement conservation initiatives.
  • Get in touch with firm contacts to assess policy viability, conserve business and coordinate conservation strategies
  • Assist in reporting and gathering data for quarterly reviews of the in-force block's health with Bermuda HNW leadership and the regional Head of In-Force Management.
  • Investigate persistency drivers and recommend solutions to improve policy persistency.
  • Support claims management reporting.
  • Investigate contractual rights and ensure transparency around ongoing costs.
  • Support reinsurance investigations for risk reduction, or earnings management.
  • Ensure feedback loops from in-force findings to improve new business.
  • Collaborate with regional and other country In-Force Management teams to share standard methodologies and participate in cross-country working groups. 
  • Share best practices and learnings with other country IF Management leads and participate in cross-country working groups as necessary.

Salary range is expected to be between

$71,925.00 CAD - $119,875.00 CAD
