Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager in the Engineering Sector in Calgary, Alberta.
Our water solutions client is seeking a highly experienced and adaptable Senior Project Manager with 15+ years of multidisciplinary engineering experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EPC or owner’s engineer environments, experience with packaged systems, and a proven ability to lead complex projects in small, fast-paced organizations.
A typical day:
Lead multidisciplinary engineering projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and schedule.
Manage client relationships, ensuring clear communication, alignment on expectations, and high satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Oversee project controls including budgeting, earned value tracking, cash flow forecasting, and cost reporting.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules.
Prepare and present progress, risk, and cost reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Drive change management processes, including scope control, MOC (Management of Change), and contract negotiations.
Support cost estimating and procurement efforts, ensuring alignment with technical and commercial requirements.
Champion process improvement in a small-company environment, helping to develop and mature project delivery systems.
Successful candidates will have:
15+ years of experience in project management with a strong foundation in multidisciplinary engineering; minimum 5 years as a Project Engineer.
Proven experience in EPC or owner’s engineer roles, with exposure to packaged systems and small-company operations.
P.Eng designation is required; PMP certification is a strong asset.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and client management skills, with the ability to lead meetings and deliver presentations.
Deep understanding of project planning, scheduling, and controls, including earned value and cash flow management.
Skilled in cost estimating, risk management, and change control processes.
Adaptable and proactive, with a track record of improving processes in evolving or underdeveloped project environments.
