We're assisting our client in the search for a Director of Financial Reporting to join their corporate finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead consolidated financial reporting for a large, publicly traded organization with complex operations across multiple entities.

Reporting to the VP, you will play a central role in external financial reporting, internal controls, and IFRS compliance, while mentoring a skilled team of accountants. This is a permanent position based in Toronto, ON.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and review of consolidated quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and regulatory requirements
  • Manage internal and external reporting processes, including disclosures, MD&A/management reports, and audit deliverables
  • Oversee month-end close activities and financial consolidations across multiple business units
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and new IFRS pronouncements
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and risk frameworks to ensure compliance and reliability of financial data
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as tax, investor relations, and FP&A, and manage relationships with external auditors
  • Lead and coach a team of accounting professionals to drive a high-performance culture

 

What You Bring:

  • CPA designation (CA, CMA, or CGA) with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or corporate financial reporting for a public company
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, multi-entity consolidations, and public company reporting requirements
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of building and mentoring successful teams
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with SAP and exposure to the construction, manufacturing, or infrastructure industry is considered an asset
