Job Description:

Payband: This position is paid at Payband F

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Duties: Under the supervision of the Director or designate, the incumbent provides Fanshawe students and graduates with information about the employment support services and programs available through Career, Co-operative Education, and LEAP Junction.  The incumbent provides triage services through drop in to students. The incumbent creates and delivers both in-person and digital format job search-related workshops for students and graduates.  The incumbent also supports all Career Services programs, including Rising Leaders, Ready Set Work, Career Closet, Student Mentorship program, and Military-connected College program.  The incumbent provides mentorship to Career Services Work Study students through the Career Peers program.  The incumbent shares workshop and program information updates to Events team for posting on Social Media channels and jobsite frequently.

Qualifications: 

  •  Post-secondary 2-year social science, arts or business-related diploma

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience and skill development in career and employment consulting and excellent program management and communication skills

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

  • Current and relevant knowledge of social media channels such as LinkedIn, as well as presentation software skills

  • Enrollment in a Career Development Practitioner program an asset

  • Strong knowledge of the programs and services offered by Employment and Student Entrepreneurial Services at Fanshawe an asset

  • Strong knowledge of ORBIS and FOL is preferred

  • Creativity, organization and excellent attention to detail

  • Strong internal college partnerships is an asset, along with a true focus on student and graduate service

  • Experience providing triage employment and consulting services to students is preferred
