The Policy Development and Research Manager helps guide important projects that support the goals of the organization and reports directly to the Senior Manager Veteran Family Program. They work closely with a team to plan initiatives, review existing processes, analyze program data and handle day-to-day tasks. A big part of their job is turning complex information into clear, practical advice that can help service providers and decision-makers. They are also skilled at tailoring program direction, whether in meetings, presentations or public discussions, based on the target audience.
The role also includes managing external contracts and working with partners to share knowledge in meaningful ways. To succeed in this role, strong evidence-based management skills, attention to detail, professional communication and comfort using innovative software are essential.
Education, Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies, Sociology, Social Work or a related discipline.
AND
Several years of experience in social research, program and community development or a related field.
