We are recruiting on behalf of a leading provincial regulatory organization dedicated to supporting innovation, sustainability, and consumer protection in the energy sector.

Our client is currently seeking a Customer Service Representative to join their Public Information team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is committed to public service, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for helping others. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for members of the public who have questions or concerns about the province’s energy sector and its regulated organizations. The ideal candidate will have a strong investigative mindset and the ability to manage and resolve consumer issues with professionalism and care.

This is a contract opportunity and will require selected candidate to work 2 days on site in Midtown, Toronto.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first line of communication for inquiries and complaints related to the province's energy sector and licensed organizations regulated by our client.
  • Collect, assess, and interpret data from consumer complaints and inquiries to help resolve issues and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Analyze whether licensed entities are operating in accordance with applicable rules and legislation.
  • Ask relevant and clarifying questions to fully understand consumer concerns and determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Seek out internal resources or escalate issues to gather necessary information for effective response.
  • Submit complaints to regulated entities and track their responses.
  • Work with both consumers and regulated entities to help facilitate fair and timely resolutions.
  • Document all communications and actions in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Provide occasional front desk/reception support as needed.
  • Act as a subject matter resource, offering accurate and timely information on energy-related services and regulations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Full professional fluency in both English and Canadian French will be considered a strong asset
  • 1–3 years of experience in a contact centre or public-facing service role, preferably handling inquiries via phone, email, and/or in person.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex information clearly and patiently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience using CRM platforms to manage consumer interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to approach problems analytically and investigate concerns thoroughly.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to juggle multiple tasks in a high-volume setting.
  • Ability to respond to consumer concerns within prescribed timelines in a professional, courteous manner.
