Support the execution of strategic initiatives and operational programs in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

• Manages assigned projects from project initiation to implementation to achieve desired business results and ensures that a successful business outcome is the prime measure of project success including delivering projects on time, within budget, within quality standards and to the satisfaction of the project lead.

• Manages projects within one business group involving multiple internal and external stakeholders and facilitates communication with other program/project managers and stakeholders efficiently and effectively; gains and builds trust and rapport.

• Directs, manages, and coordinates team members including other project managers, business and technology resources, user groups, internal and external consultants, and contractors, as well as vendors and external regulatory organizations.

• Assists in the development of plans, managing key milestones, prioritizing tasks, and assigning various deliverables to team members.

• Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.

• Demonstrates ownership and commitment for the identification and resolution of project problems.

• Breaks down problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations as well as resolve issues.

• Understands project interdependencies and demonstrates critical thinking that proactively identifies project risks and establishes effective risk mitigation from the outset.

• Manages overall project budget, financial tracking, financial forecasts, and conducts ongoing reconciliation

• Monitors and tracks performance & key value levers of the ongoing initiatives and addresses any issues to ensure realization of planned benefits / value from the project / program.

• Provides project lead with advice on the viability of the business case (costs, benefits, KPIs, etc.) throughout the project.

• Advise on negotiations for contracts and agreements with clients, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.

• Manages all aspects of the project lifecycle, including business, operational and technology deliverables. Ensures all project processes are completed.

• Develops and documents all related project management artifacts (including but not limited to project plan, governance structure, RASCI and status update presentations / documents), while complying with applicable enterprise standards

• Monitors and controls project deliverables. Makes recommendations and adjustments to the overall project plan to achieve deliverables

• Leads and/or represents the project in project team meetings, governance forums and inter-department forums.

• Executes project requirements in governance frameworks focused on risk appetite, regulatory and compliance standards.

• Adheres to Bank risk, regulatory and compliance controls.

• Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.

• Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.

• Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Additional Requirements

• 10+ years of project management related experience, with recent consulting background

• Diverse project management experience (not narrowly focused on technology or regulatory projects)

• MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills - Expert

• Verbal & written communication skills - Expert

• Analytical and problem-solving skills - Expert

• Collaboration & team skills - Expert

• Influence skills - Expert.

• Data driven decision making - Expert

• Stakeholder management – Expert.

• Able to navigate challenging situations effectively

• Able to apply project management methodologies or approaches

• Valid Project Management designation is an asset

• Experience with BMO policies, guidelines and project management frameworks (incl. PDLC) is an asset

• PMP Certification & relevant experience in both waterfall and agile practices

Salary:
$92,400.00 - $171,600.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
