Alberta Teaching Profession Commission (ATPC)
The Education Act provides the statutory authority for the Alberta Teaching Profession Commission and the appointment of an arm's length Commissioner to oversee teacher and teacher leader conduct and competency complaints for the profession. This process applies to all teacher and teacher leaders under the Education Act (the Act).
The Alberta Teaching Profession Commission oversees a new model, which came into force on January 1, 2023, for teacher and teacher leader disciplinary matters, which brought Alberta in line with best practices used in comparable provinces and other regulated professions. The Alberta Teaching Profession Commission protects students and enhances accountability and transparency for disciplinary matters as a regulated profession.

Reporting to the Director, Investigations, this role provides direct guidance, leadership, and expert advice to a team of Investigators. This position directly supervises a team of 7 Investigators. The Manager, Investigations will be responsible for:
-Leading and supervising investigations in alignment with principles of natural justice and administrative fairness.
-Ensuring departmental goals are met.
-Building investigator's competencies and fostering excellence through staff development.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Education, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Legal Studies) plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.

This is a full-time Permanent position working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Working location is 8th floor, Petwin Tower 10707 – 100 Avenue NW, Edmonton.

This competition will be used to develop a certified candidate list for future vacancies with the Alberta Teaching Profession Commission and may be used to fill future vacancies across the Government of Alberta, at equal or lower classification and salary.
