Summary of responsibilities:
The Strategy and Innovation Architect is responsible for creating the architecture and design of future solutions, both looking at hardware and software. Working closely with IT Subject Matter Experts, Business Analysts and directly liaising with the business owners, the position leads the creation of the innovation roadmap and contributes to the broader IT Strategic Plan. With broad skillsets, they analyze ideas or issues and turn them into solutions. The role is a major unifying resource between IT and the business. The Strategy and Innovation Architect performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
Successful completion of a college diploma or university degree with specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology/Management or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
Minimum eight (8) years progressive experience in technical roles with demonstrated increased levels of innovation, leadership and strategic thinking culminating in at least three years in roles similar to Innovation Manager, Solutions Architect, or similar.
A minimum of two years experience in cloud computing solutions in Microsoft Azure.
Proven track record of industry knowledge, including trends and emerging technologies.

Demonstrated experience understanding and interpreting risk to make recommendations for change.
Valuable skills include:
Experience leading complex business transformation projects.
Experience leading and facilitating teams or working groups.
Experience and understanding of complex computer hardware, data, data centers, and software environments
Broad understanding of impacts and considerations for IT Security.
Virtualization knowledge such as hardware platforms, storage, network resources and how virtualization can play a role in modern solutions.
Knowledge of various operating systems and databases.
Specific work requirements
Ability to work overtime as required;
Ability to travel as required
Language Profile: English essential;
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
