About the Role

We are looking for a strategic and innovative Eco-Design Specialist to lead sustainability-driven product development for our advanced flight simulators. This role will focus on Lifecycle Assessment (LCA), Product Decarbonization, sustainable materials, and circular economy strategies to drive both cost efficiency and carbon reduction. The selected candidate will work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to embed sustainability principles into product lifecycle decisions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Environmental Impact & Lifecycle Strategy

  • Sustainability in Design: Guide engineering teams on material selection, energy-efficient processes, and eco-design innovations.
  • Support the development of LCA frameworks: Lead the integration of Lifecycle Assessment methodologies to evaluate and improve environmental performance.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making on scope 3: Utilize environmental impact data to inform product development and sustainability initiatives.

2. Sustainable Supply Chain & Material Innovation

  • Supplier Collaboration: Engage with key suppliers to enhance material sourcing, reduce waste, and implement sustainable manufacturing practices.
  • Material Optimization: Define and track weight and material composition to enhance efficiency and achieve environmental benefits.
  • Recycled & Alternative Materials: Establish targets for integrating recycled and lower-carbon materials into simulator components.

3. Circular Economy & Product End-of-Life Management

  • Design for Disassembly: Develop strategies for the end-of-life dismantling, refurbishment, and material reintegration of simulators.
  • Recycling & Waste Reduction: Identify and implement solutions to maximize recyclability and minimize waste in production.
  • Take-Back Program Development: Define and implement initiatives to recover and repurpose simulator components.

4. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

  • Restricted Substance Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with hazardous materials.
  • Transparency & Reporting: Support sustainability reporting and regulatory disclosures on material compliance.

5. Performance Monitoring & Strategic Impact

  • KPI Development & Tracking: Define key environmental performance indicators and measure progress against sustainability goals.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a sustainability champion within engineering and supply chain teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to advance eco-design and reduce carbon impact.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diplôme de baccalauréat ou de maîtrise en génie mécanique, génie environnemental, design durable ou dans des domaines connexes.
  • Expérience avérée en analyse du cycle de vie (ACV), conception de produits durables et collaboration avec la chaîne d'approvisionnement.
  • Solide connaissance des principes de l'économie circulaire, des sciences des matériaux et de la réduction de l'empreinte carbone. Capacité à analyser des données environnementales complexes et à traduire les résultats en stratégies concrètes.
  • Expérience dans l'engagement avec les fournisseurs et des équipes d'ingénierie pour promouvoir des initiatives de durabilité.
