We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support a high-impact technology initiative for a public sector organization. This is an 8-month contract with a hybrid work model based in Edmonton.
In this role, you will lead the delivery of complex IT projects involving system upgrades, integrations, or platform transitions. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure project milestones are met on time and within scope. The ideal candidate brings a strong track record of delivering enterprise-level technology projects, preferably within a structured or public sector environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation to close-out
Lead planning and design sessions, training, product demos, and solution adoption activities
Support change management and solution adoption across multidisciplinary project teams
Coordinate vendor relationships and ensure timely issue resolution
Collaborate with project stakeholders to align outcomes with business goals
Facilitate knowledge transfer and promote modern service delivery practices
Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies
Adapt to changing priorities and expectations while maintaining delivery timelines
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
Secure and manage project resources, adjusting as needed based on scope
Remove project blockers and support team productivity
Track project progress using appropriate tools and metrics
Provide regular project updates, including financial and status reporting
Perform other duties as required to support project delivery
Qualifications and Skills
5+ years of project management experience, ideally in IT environments
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Information Technology
Strong understanding of application development methodologies
Familiarity with Agile and/or Waterfall project delivery frameworks
Proven ability to manage risks, engage stakeholders, and resolve conflicts
Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors
PMP and/or PRINCE2 certification preferred
