Our government defence client is requesting Systems Engineer support on capital projects and in-service support (ISS) programs

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Contractor’s resource will perform tasks in support of DCSEM capital projects and in-service support (ISS) programs, including the project. These tasks may include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide Systems Engineering (SE) support in accordance with the applicable project management policies and Industry best SE practices.
  • Participate in industry engagements or meetings to support Options Analysis, Definition, Implementation, and ISS activities.
    Types of industry engagements and meetings may include: Working Groups, Progress Reviews, Directorate Leadership Team Meetings, Section or Sub-Section Meetings, Technical Reviews, Design Reviews, Conferences, Seminars, Training Sessions, Briefings, Panels, Video Conferences, and other gatherings as directed by the Technical Authority (TA).
  • Support the SE and ILS teams during the Request for Proposal (RFP) posting period, through providing responses to industry questions.
  • Participate in the development and review, maintenance and updating of technical and procurement documentation specific to the project phases (Project/Task Option Analysis, Definition, Implementation and ISS Steady State), Configuration Management, and Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quote (RFQ), and Request for Information (RFI).
  • Write and/or review project documentation such as Sustainment Business Case Analysis (SBCA).
  • Participate in technical bid evaluations.
  • Conduct technical studies and design reviews;
  • Conduct Risk Management (including planning, identification, analysis, and monitoring) in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Review technical risks and integration issues as they arise and recommend mitigation strategies or alternate solutions.
  • Conduct, prepare and/or review technical investigations.
  • Develop and/or review test and trial plans.
  • Prepare and/or review engineering reports including test reports, Unsatisfactory Condition Reports (UCRs) and Technical Failure Reports (TFRs).
  • Review data deliverables submitted by the Contractor, provide inline feedback, and provide recommendation to the Technical Authority regarding approval or resubmission.
  • Verify translated documents to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Create and/or update reports and documents using basic computer software including but not limited to Microsoft (MS) Office 365 and MS Project.
  • Update requirements in Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) and DOORS Tender Assessment (DOORS TA).
  • Other related tasks on an as-and-when-requested basis.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Secret Clearance
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience Improving the application of Systems Engineering 
  • Two (2) years of experience working as an Engineer in a Project or as an Engineer providing in-service support.
  • Experience in the field of Simulation (Live, Virtual or Constructive)
  • Experience working on Sustainment Business Case Analysis.
