Altis Recruitment is grateful to support our client in the Broader Public Sector to recruit a HR Generalist for 6-month contract (possibility of extension) based in Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for onboarding, payroll paperwork, records management, and supporting employees with forms, timesheets, and benefits issues.

Responsibilities

• Handle onboarding and new hire paperwork
• Act as a liaison between employees and the payroll team
• Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
• Troubleshoot issues (e.g., benefits access, missed timesheets, direct deposit errors)
• Coach employees on form completion and follow-ups
• Track and maintain both digital and paper employee records
• Respond to inquiries from employees, payroll, and benefits administrators
• Assist with timesheet accuracy and related queries

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HR experience in a related role
• Solid understanding of onboarding processes, benefits forms, and payroll document flow
• Excellent attention to detail skills and ability to identify gaps in documentation
• HR Diploma, Degree in HR, or related education preferred; CHRP/CHRL considered an asset
• Strong communication skills, patience, and professionalism
