About Our Opportunity

Are you prepared to lead a transformational journey toward compliance, sustainability, and innovation in housing programs? We’re hiring for the Manager of Short-term Rental Program & Compliance, who will work collaboratively with stakeholders to establish and implement a comprehensive plan and culture of compliance across our housing programs.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering a compliance plan that will be the cornerstone of our efforts to promote accountability and compliance. By doing so, you will enhance client service and reinforce the sustainability of our programs. A core component of this role involves ensuring alignment with federal and provincial priorities and enhancing the quality of service. 

Primary Accountabilities

Reporting to the Director, you will lead the delivery of the short-term rental regulatory program. You will also lead strategic initiatives as required to advance Government priorities and provide advice and recommendations to senior leadership, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the organization. Key accountabilities will include:

 

  • Ensuring priorities and objectives are met and ensuring alignment of program delivery with legislation, regulation, policy, and government priorities.

 

  • Implementing business processes and practices, including the creation of key performance indicators to drive alignment around measures that enhance client service and program performance.

 

  • Engaging with program delivery teams to support business processes and address cases of non-compliance.

 

  • Regularly assessing the efficiency of compliance processes, identifying hidden risks and common issues, and recommending effective improvements.

 

  • Manage the development of education, communication, and outreach materials.

 

  • Ensure the effective management of human and financial resources by setting and evaluating staff performance targets, promoting diversity and a healthy workplace, demonstrating leadership competencies, respecting corporate human resources practices, promoting teamwork and individual development, maintaining internal communications, monitoring expenditures while adhering to procurement guidelines.

 

  • Lead and support other departmental strategic initiatives.

 

Qualifications and Experience

You will possess a degree or diploma in public administration, business administration, or a related field plus significant years of progressive experience in program delivery and administration, preferably within a government or public sector environment. You thrive in a fast-paced environment. You can translate change strategies into practical goals, work plans, and processes.

 

You must demonstrate:

  • Experience in operational management, strategic program management, and policy development.
  • Experience developing and/or implementing operational procedures and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of compliance, enforcement, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a respectful, diverse, and healthy workplace.

Working Conditions

This role is primarily based in a comfortable office environment, and you may be working at your computer for extended periods of time. You may be required to travel within the province to attend stakeholder meetings. 

Additional Information

This is a TERM employment opportunity with an anticipated end date of March 31, 2028.  The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.

Pay Grade:  EC 12 

Salary Range:  $3,760.89 - $4,701.11 Bi-Weekly
