Position Title: Temporary HR Project Manager (with potential for temp-to-perm conversion)

Location:
Toronto, ON – On-site (Yonge & Sheppard area)
Easily accessible via public transit (TTC); parking not provided

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Position Overview

Our client, a well-established and certified “Great Place to Work,” is seeking an experienced HR Project Manager for a temporary assignment with the potential to transition into a permanent position. This opportunity is ideal for a proactive and self-directed HR professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, and high-performing team environment.

The successful candidate will join a five-person HR team within an organization of approximately 300 office-based employees. The role involves driving and executing high-impact HR initiatives, including a national performance management redesign and career pathing programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the redesign of the national performance review program, including vendor identification, selection, and implementation planning
  • Support the development and rollout of a company-wide career path framework, in alignment with organizational goals and employee development needs
  • Analyze and report on HR metrics, supporting data-driven decision-making within the department
  • Provide support for leadership development and performance programs
  • Assist with benefits-related initiatives and general HR project planning
  • Vetting external vendors and managing implementation logistics for HR systems and tools
  • Deliver general support across other HR programs and ad hoc initiatives as needed

Qualifications & Key Competencies

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience leading or supporting HR projects, particularly in performance management, career pathing, and program implementation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (including use of formulas, metrics, and data analysis), PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong analytical abilities, high attention to detail, and sound judgment in problem-solving
  • Comfortable managing dashboards and conducting fee lookups

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A seasoned HR Generalist or HR Project Manager with a proven track record of successfully executing HR initiatives in corporate office environments
  • Independent, self-starter with strong critical thinking and project ownership skills
  • Comfortable working without strict direction, and capable of managing multiple deliverables simultaneously
  • Candidates currently in transition or recently downsized are encouraged to apply

Compensation

  • Target compensation range: $90,000 – $100,000 per annum (prorated based on duration of temporary engagement)
