As a BI Data Warehouse Developer, you will gain an understanding of our Group, Individual and Government client benefit business, including how they are structured and managed from a technical perspective. You will interact with other key business areas such as Finance, Business Development, Case Management, Underwriting, Federal/Provincial Programs, other IT teams and customers. This role will be responsible to design, develop and rollout Business Intelligence solutions from a Data Warehouse perspective. This is purely a Business Intelligence / Data Warehouse Application Development team that can assist in your career objectives and work with you to leverage your capabilities and intuition.
Key responsibilities:
Design and develop solutions which are compliant with BI Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Enterprise architectural standards
Deliver and advise on database fundamentals, including SQL queries, data modeling, Extract, Transform, Load processes. Working with and advising on data warehouse design principles, such as star and snowflake schemas. Provide modern information architecture technical designs and specifications for data integration and data storage to support new BI solutions
Translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to drive Data Modeling/Data Warehouse/Data integration/Analytics and Reporting.
Use Extract/Transform/Load – OLTP & OLAP processes to load data store(s)/ data warehouse(s)/ data mart(s).
Design Relational, Dimensional and Tabular Data Structures for organizational data and reporting.
Participate in technical design and business data needs to deliver data solutions.
Support continuous improvement and adoption of best practices including Lean Agile, DevOps, Continuous Delivery Pipeline, and ITIL
Skill and experience:
Exposure to scalable data warehouse solutions using Oracle and Microsoft. Monitor and optimize data warehouse performance, ensuring high availability and scalability.
PL/SQL - Experience in writing advanced SQL, stored procedures, functions, packages, database triggers, shell scripts, SQL Loader and external tables
ETL Processes – experience developing, implementing, and managing ETL processes to ensure accurate and timely data integration from various sources. SSIS & Python.
Familiarity with Analytics Tooling – experience integrating data warehouse solutions with various analytics tools (e.g., SQL Server Analytical Services (Dimensional, Tabular, Cubes, Data Marts, Power BI & SSRS) to support business intelligence solutions.
Qualifications and experience - Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Oracle and Microsoft data warehousing and data architecture.

You are a good communicator – you are a clear, concise and friendly but know how to communicate to different audiences such as clients, members and internal stakeholders.
You have earned a post-secondary diploma or degree and/or relevant working experience in business, technology or engineering
You are detailed oriented person, you like the little details with the big picture in mind.
You have been successful in roles that involve either detailed analysis, quality assurance or systems management
This role could be a good fit for someone in a Data Warehouse or Business Intelligence position, HRIS, engineering/process management or IT analyst career path
Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B) prior to your start date. This includes; Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.
