The newly renovated William Watson Lodge (WWL) is located in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, overlooking Lower Kananaskis Lake. The lodge provides year-round, barrier-free lodging for persons with disabilities, seniors and their families. The goal of this facility is to connect people of all abilities, all ages and all cultures to recreational opportunities in nature. Reporting to the Caretaking and Maintenance Supervisor, this position is primarily responsible for caretaking and some grounds maintenance around the WWL facility as well as other Alberta Parks facilities within the Kananaskis and Bow Valley.
The Caretaking and Maintenance Specialist will work closely with all members of the WWL Team, Trails Team and Visitor Information Services Staff to ensure high quality of cleaning, sanitation and upkeep of cabins as well as other buildings throughout the Park.
Key responsibilities include cleanliness, and upkeep of guest cabins, and WWL grounds as well as ensuring safe access to pathways, buildings, parking stalls, and Alberta Parks infrastructure for visitors as well as staff.
Additional responsibilities will include general upkeep and maintenance of equipment.
