Our client in the Municipal Government Sector is seeking a Inorganic Lab Technician

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and conduct analyses of water, wastewater, sludge, or biosolids for monitoring and by-law enforcement in line with government regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized laboratory logs.
  • Prepare quality control and calibration standards, reagents, and media.
  • Manage the storage, handling, and inventory of chemicals and supplies.
  • Utilize various laboratory equipment while ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to approved Standard Operating Procedures as outlined in the Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Clean lab glassware after use and ensure availability for other staff.
  • Prepare sampling containers for sample collection.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Chemistry or Environmental Science.
  • General knowledge of Inorganic Chemistry and familiarity with laboratory techniques.
  • Understanding of Good Lab Practices (GLP), WHMIS, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control in an analytical lab setting.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Strong customer service, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
