Our client in the mental health sector is hiring for a Medical Department Secretary (Temporary Role). This position is focused on providing crucial administrative support. The main tasks involve helping manage a large backlog of client files, reviewing waitlists, supporting day-to-day operations, and assisting with various ad hoc tasks.
Location & Work Model: Fully on-site in Toronto
Pay Rate: $26/hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Contract Duration: Minimum 2 months, with possibility of extension based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Support file management and clean up open client cases
Review and clean up waitlists by contacting clients to assess needs
Assist in administrative tasks including faxing, filing, and scanning
Handle data entry and system updates using database software
Participate in special projects and provide general clerical support
Manage documentation accurately and confidentially
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of administrative experience in healthcare or mental health settings
Education in office administration, medical administration, or related field is a strong asset
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to handle upset or distressed clients
Experience working in client-facing roles such as reception or patient service
Proficient with technology and databases
High attention to detail, accuracy in data entry
Must be adaptable, personable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
