Credit Risk Associate (Contract)
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Job Type: 12-month contract, with a possibility for extension/conversion

We are partnering with a Schedule III Bank to hire a Credit Risk Associate to support their Risk Management team. This is a great opportunity for someone with 2–3 years of experience in credit risk who is looking to grow their expertise in portfolio oversight, risk reporting, and policy enhancement within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze credit risk data and assess portfolio quality, trends, and concentration risk.

  • Support stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate how the credit portfolio would perform under different economic conditions.

  • Assist with regular credit risk reports, track key metrics and indicators, and contribute to annual risk appetite reviews.

  • Help improve risk policies and procedures to align with regulatory standards and industry best practices.

  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal teams and regulatory bodies as needed.

  • Stay current with market trends and evolving risks in the financial services sector.

What You Bring:

  • A degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field (a master’s or certification like FRM/CFA is an asset).

  • 2–3 years of experience in credit risk or a related field in financial services.

  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong skills in Excel and hands-on experience with tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, or Bloomberg.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.

  • Familiarity with Canadian financial regulations is a plus.
