Our client in the healthcare industry is hiring a Medical Administrative Assistant to support a busy specialist in a clinical setting. This role involves handling a variety of front and back office administrative tasks, including patient coordination, medical transcription, and managing referrals. It’s ideal for someone with at least one year of medical office experience and proficiency in Accuro EMR.
Location & Work Model: Ottawa (Nepean), ON – fully on-site
Schedule/Hours:
Part time position working Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and flexibility to work on Fridays if required.
Contract Duration: 11 weeks with possibility of extension
Schedule and confirm patient appointments
Prepare charts and maintain organized records
Process incoming and outgoing referrals
Contact patients regarding upcoming procedures and consultations
Transcribe and type notes during medical consultations
Maintain supply inventory and order office/exam room supplies as needed
Input data into hospital systems related to patient procedures/surgeries
Ensure exam rooms are clean and ready between appointments
Provide general administrative support in a clinical setting
2+ year of experience in a medical office or healthcare administration
Proficiency with Accuro EMR (required)
Experience with Novari (preferred); Epic knowledge an asset
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential patient information
Available to start on short notice
