What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
Graduation from a recognized university in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or Business Administration with a specialization in Human Resources.
Certified Human Resources Professional designation or equivalent preferred.
6 - 10 years related HR experience with 3+ years as a business partner or HR generalist with demonstrated proactive advisory capability.
Experience providing consultation to leaders in the areas of workforce planning, talent management, organizational development, organizational design, and change management.
Experience supporting the development and management of programs, policies, and procedures in an HR environment.
Experience in forming, leading, and facilitating meetings and work groups.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of HR Management policies, practices, theories, concepts, and systems.
Knowledge and understanding of employment laws (including the Canada Labour Code, Human Rights Act and Employment Equity Act) and industry trends relating to HR.
Experience providing expertise, guidance and coaching to management and employees in the delivery of HR programs.

Valuable skills include:
Experience working with all levels of an organization, including executive level leadership.
Sound knowledge of current employment related legislation, human resources best practices and policies and labour relations and proven ability to advise clients.
Experience collaborating with team members on new approaches, programs, policies, and procedures to continually improve HR practices in support of CATSA’s quality of service and operational plan achievement.
Demonstrated successful execution of key Human Resources projects and programs.
Experience planning and coordinating the delivery of annual HR initiatives with business leaders such as workforce/talent planning, employee engagement initiatives, and other programs that may be developed.
Specific work requirements
Ability to work overtime as required;
Language Profile: CBCC;
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority is a Crown corporation responsible for securing specific elements of the air transportation system – from passenger and baggage screening to screening airport workers.
