Salary: From 20 to 22 per Hour
 

Our client is hiring a detail-oriented and proactive HR Administrator to support the day-to-day human resources functions of a compassionate, community-focused non-profit. This 2-month contract role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a collaborative setting and has 1–2 years of administrative HR experience and has intermediate or advanced efficiency in French. This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) based onsite in Ottawa, with some flexibility to work from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter and update employee information in the ADP HRIS system
  • Process benefits changes (terminations, enrollments, salary and premium updates)
  • Prepare employment letters, immigration letters, and other documentation
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records and ensure data integrity
  • Manage confidential information with discretion
  • Coordinate interviews, reference checks, and pre-screening
  • Organize and schedule candidate interviews (no participation in interviews)
  • Assist with labour relations tasks
  • Track mandatory staff training and certifications (e.g., CPR, CPI)
  • Monitor expiry dates and send reminders
  • Register employees for training and coordinate logistics

Qualifications:

  • Education in Human Resources and/ or equivalent experience
  • 1–2 years minimum of experience in HR administration
  • Strong understanding of HRIS systems (ADP experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of computer software Microsoft Office such as: Excel, Word, Power point, etc.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, benefit, and training coordination
  • Fluency in English and Intermediate communication skills in both spoken and written French
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good administrative skills, organized and demonstrates time management skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check
