xScale is a business unit within Equinix that delivers large scale facilities for either one or two customers in one location in long term lease deals across extended contract duration, typically 10-15 years. These specific deals are delivered through Joint Venture partnerships with carefully selected global investment partners with considerable equity investment capability. So far, the xScale capital commitment through equity and debt is $23Bn.     The xScale JV Establishment, Financing and Monetization programs have key cross functional areas that perform several activities in sequence to ensure that a JV is established, financed and monetized in a legal and compliant manner and has the required agreements in place to identify and deliver a complex set of fee structures that ensure all partners are adequately served. This includes:    Corporate tax structuring & legal entity set-up  Legal agreements with our investors: JV Agreements, Commercial Agreements  Corporate Development  Real Estate Acquisition & Design and Construction planning  Corporate financing   Business Operations,   IT & Product    The key stakeholders are internal Equinix teams & e-staff as well as investors, external legal counsel and various advisers.     The role will be AMER based reporting into the Senior Director, Business Operations, xScale.     Candidate Profile The successful candidate needs to be an experienced Program Manager ideally in corporate structuring or business transformation. The successful candidate should have flexibility and agility to meet the demands and requirements of the xScale program and its objectives. A knowledge of the Data Center industry or Cloud services would be an advantage.      The candidate should have skills and experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Program Management  M+A  Corporate or legal structuring  Corporate financing    Strong stakeholder management skills at a senior level internally and external are a requirement as is a background in managing significant change and transformation.     The expectation of this role is to operate as part of the extended xScale team to support growing a global business with staff and operations globally. Whilst some of these Joint Ventures are new businesses, there are ongoing operations to be defined and supported from Day 1.    The successful candidate will play a hands-on key role in a specialised team with extended or dotted line co-ordination of teams of up to 40-50 cross functionally.     If you are seeking the next challenge in your career and believe you have the right skills to make an impact and shape the future, we would love to hear from you.    The role and needs of the team are fast moving, dynamic and not the right choice for everyone, participation across multiple time zones is essential in various phases of the program lifecycle which makes for an often challenging task. It can also be very rewarding playing a key role in expanding Equinix’s global footprint and playing a part in meeting Equinix objectives.      Responsibilities Project/Program Delivery  Can work as part of a Global Team and give and take direction when required  Leads the cross functional team responsible for delivery of the key programs  Has a demonstrable track record of delivering complex programs on time.    Project and Program Management Frameworks  Effectively communicates project management methodology and its application to solutions  Can use Smartsheets or any other project management tool  Planning  Ensures planning standards reviewed and improved at regular intervals  Anticipates areas for continuous improvement and lessons learned and leads the team on closing gaps    Stakeholder Management  Provides management and leadership across the team and stakeholders including investors, customers, and executive leaders Seeks opportunities to build effective stakeholder relationships on behalf of the team  Encourages feedback and develops stakeholder knowledge of function and manages expectations  Experienced using presentational tools and media including PPT   Communications  Communicates clearly with peers and stakeholders on the programs, goals, milestones and dependencies required to successfully deliver  Has strong listening skills (hearing the unspoken words)   Adept at bringing in the right level of personnel at the right moment    Skills and Attributes Ability to engage key executive stakeholders including investors, cross functional leaders and the executive team  Proven ability to build followership across peers while fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with proven experience of multi-level influencing   Commitment to fostering an inclusive culture and developing leadership within the organization, aligning with Equinix's core values and strategic objectives    Qualifications 10+ years’ successful experience of project management with several years’ delivering transformation or integration programs essential Diploma to a bachelor’s degree preferred Ability to write and communicate verbally with strong business English BA/BS degree or equivalent experience preferably in an engineering, legal or finance related subject  The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are: • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $198,000 to $298,000 per year Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position may be offered in other locations.
