Equinix is looking for a Principal Architect to join our team, focusing on People and Legal Technology domains. In this role, you will provide technical expertise on the NOW platform as it relates to the HR & Legal Service Delivery implementations of ServiceNow, as well as oversight to the Creator Workflow and App Engine Low-code/no-code development operations within these domains. You will work across multiple scrum teams to provide technical leadership to the development team, as well as partner with the NOW platform team to establish technical direction for system design, implementation, integration, modernization, and continuous improvements on the platform. You will work directly with product managers within the business to work through real customer problems and help to identify solutions that delight employees and provide value to Equinix. Responsibilities Solutions Design and implement scalable ServiceNow solutions for HR and Legal Service Delivery efficiently and with excellent quality Provide guidance on new features and offer solutions to complex business problems using platform features in partnership with other solutions, custom apps, or integrations Work directly with business stakeholders at any level to understand their needs, ask questions, and offer creative solutions to create great customer experiences. Assess cost of maintenance vs value where customization is needed and effectively negotiate those trade-offs with the business Mentor / coach other developers on development and architecture best practices and support them in compliance with Infosec and enterprise architecture guidelines Develop architectural blueprints and technical specifications to guide the implementation of ServiceNow modules Perform architecture and code reviews as needed for new solutions Participate in major SCRUM ceremonies to stay up-to-date with the team. Writes defensive, maintainable code that solves unique real-world problems for Equinix's users Security Review and ensure that security on the platform related to these domains is in line with Data Privacy and Infosec standards at Equinix Periodically review current access on the platform to ensure least-privileged access to sensitive data Assist the team in Security Reviews and Employee Data Governance Reviews on new solutions or integrations as necessary Work with the domain and enterprise architects to review new applications and integrations Participates in Equinix's incident response and vulnerability remediation efforts Assists in breach of security drills Demonstrates Experienced with handling unique security information, and event management and responses to critical situations Product Innovation Continues to stay abreast of the product roadmaps across domains and participates in the PI Planning against those roadmaps Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and legal and HR regulations to proactively identify opportunities for improvement and innovation Stays up-to-date on the latest domain specific and platform features with each release and articulates those features to the business Challenge the status quo and inspire change by proposing bold, forward-thinking solutions Demonstrates an experimental mindset – not afraid to fail fast and sees it as an opportunity to learn and iterate Production Support / Release Management Participate in bi-weekly releases with the team, ensuring that runbooks are accurate, code reviews are done, and change management processes are followed Participate in planning and execution of major upgrades Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations Identify improvements to address repeat issues, and create RCAs when necessary Responsible for reporting any data breaches identified to the appropriate teams within Equinix Documentation Create & Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for future reference Ensure architecture documentation is maintained for the assigned domains, and input to the enterprise architecture documentation as needed Develop playbooks for repeatable processes and document best practices and development standards Qualifications 10+ years of relevant experience in ServiceNow architecture and implementation Bachelor’s / Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Strong understanding of ServiceNow modules, experience with HR Service Delivery and Legal Service Delivery a plus Knowledge of App Engine and Creator Workflows Experience leading development teams and collaborating with business stakeholders. Knowledge of ITIL best practices and service management frameworks. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a product operating model and working with multiple products simultaneously.
