Strategic Sourcing Specialist – Human Resources, Global Communications & Marketing

Are you passionate about enabling business success through people, culture, and brand? As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist – Human Resources, Global Communications & Marketing, you will have the opportunity to work closely with internal stakeholders, the broader Global Procurement & Supply Management team, and external partners to drive competitive category and supplier strategies. Your focus will be on optimizing value, ensuring service excellence, and mitigating risk across a wide range of services including talent acquisition, employee benefits, learning and development, communications, and marketing.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Procurement & Supply Management, Business Services and Operations, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where no two days are the same. You’ll demonstrate strong collaboration skills, a passion for continuous improvement, and a relentless drive to deliver results. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and communication capabilities, a proven ability to build trusted relationships across the organization, and experience in contract and pricing management—including the preparation of agreements and supplier negotiations—related to HR services, communications platforms, and marketing agencies that support CAE’s global operations and employer brand.

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Partnership:

  • Understand internal stakeholder needs across HR, Communications, and Marketing functions.
  • Develop and execute category strategies aligned with CAE’s global and local business objectives.
  • Provide strategic sourcing guidance and category management expertise.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Support transformation initiatives and drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes.

Category Management:

  • Lead sourcing initiatives for:
    • Talent acquisition and recruitment services
    • Employee benefits and wellness programs
    • Learning and development platforms
    • Communications tools and services
    • Creative, media, and digital marketing agencies
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking to identify trends, innovations, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Deliver sustainable value through cost optimization, supplier performance, and innovation.
  • Apply best practices in category management and participate in global category councils as needed.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Build and manage strategic supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts in collaboration with Legal and other internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure service excellence.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with ESG standards and CAE’s procurement policies.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers that align with CAE’s innovation and diversity goals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, HR, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Bilingual in English and French preferred; additional languages are an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with BI tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with HR and Marketing technologies and services is highly desirable.

Experience:

  • 2–5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or vendor management.
  • Experience in Human Resources, Communications, or Marketing categories is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Ariba) is an asset.
