In this role, you will:
• Partner with customers to craft highly flexible, resilient architectures that address complex business challenges and accelerate adoption of AWS services
• Collaborate with sales teams to drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers and industries
• Act as a trusted advisor, helping organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, including strategic use of AI/ML and modern data approaches
• Shape and execute strategies to build mindshare and broaden the use of AWS across customer organizations
• Apply your strategic thinking to business, product, and technical challenges

Key job responsibilities
• Build deep relationships with customers to become a trusted advisor for their most critical workloads that support their digital transformation and journey to the cloud.
• Support achievement of revenue objectives through the adoption and migration of applications, software, and services onto the AWS platform, in partnership with the sales team.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
• Contribute to AWS internal and customer-facing publications such as white-papers and blogs as a means of scaling your knowledge.
• Act as a liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support to address customer needs.
• Ability to travel within the city or province, and up to 15% out of the province to meet customers
• AWS training during the onboarding process (typically the first 3 months) may require travel to the United States for up to 5 consecutive days.
A day in the life
Day-to-day; Gather business requirements (both functional and non-functional), Propose solutions, Proof of concepts, Demos (presenting technical topics to a non-technical client audience)
The SA Commercial team is located across Canada (major cities; Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal) and supports clients in the enterprise, independent software vendors, financial services, small medium business and greenfield sectors leverage their potential with AWS.
SAs typically are:
• Passionate about designing and guiding cloud architectural builds
• Dedicated to accelerating and scaling innovation, reducing costs and driving efficiency
• Hands-on, getting into details, and possibly writing demo / proof-of-concept code
• Already broadly capable in architect roles, with plenty of hands-on experience

Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
