THE ROLE
Position: Accounting Assistant
Competition Number: CNS 2025-06-09a
Reports to: Controller (Finance)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 0800 - 1400
Closing Date: July 1, 2025
Key Responsibilities
Support the Process improvement specialist with the following:
o The management of the Medical Benefits AR and work with HR to ensure AR is collected
o The review of the Greenshield and Sunlife invoices and comparison to payroll remittances to ensure accuracy
o Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed
Support the Controller with the following:
o Bank reconciliations
o Processing miscellaneous AR including benefits and training
o Posting ID services revenues
o Other duties as required and assigned.
Accounts receivable project
o Conduct account receivable reconciliations, investigating discrepancies such as short payments, overpayments, and unresolved balances.
o Collaborate with Billing, contracting, and Operations teams to resolve invoice discrepancies, rating errors, and contract inconsistencies.
o Act as a problem-solving expert, addressing challenges to prevent recurring issues.
o Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, disputes, and resolutions.

o Excellent oral and strong written communication skills.

o Ability to work in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment.
o Highly professional and polite with a positive attitude.
o Proficient in Excel and Word.
o Experience with Sage 300.
o Strong attention to detail with good organizational skills.
o Ability to multitask, prioritize, and accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
