As a member of the Forecasting Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team and reporting to the Director, FP&A, the Senior Financial Analyst at Manulife Bank of Canada will directly contribute to the monthly and annual financial forecasting, analysis, and financial performance of the business. will collaborate across functions within the Bank, including treasury, financial controllers, capital management teams and product strategy teams. This is an opportunity for a strong finance professional to grow and demonstrate banking expertise in a supportive and diverse environment.
Position Responsibilities:
Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Lead the sales forecasting process and generate regular reports, providing insights into sales performance and trends
Financial Analysis and Modeling: Perform month-end variance analysis for Sales, P&L, and Balance Sheet, maintain detailed financial models to support strategic planning, and analyze key financial metrics
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze large data sets using SQL and generate financial analyses, reports, and presentations for executives, ensuring clarity and accuracy in the information provided
Executive Support and Presentations: Prepare analysis and materials for senior executive presentations and reporting packages, offering valuable insights and recommendations
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business contacts to develop portfolio-specific forecast models and provide inputs to line of business finance contacts, supporting portfolio-specific ad hoc requests
Process Improvement and Automation: Participate in and manage automation projects, recommending solutions to overcome process barriers and weaknesses, and seeking continuous improvements and efficiencies in reporting
Prioritization and Results Delivery: Handle competing priorities effectively, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of results
Required Qualifications:
University degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced data analysis features
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as presentation and business writing skills
Strong attention to detail, a learning mindset, and willingness to ask questions
High degree of flexibility and creativity is required; must be able to adapt to a constantly evolving environment and to develop and adapt financial procedures and processes to meet such changes
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to work within various group settings
Strong business sense with a good understanding of the banking industry, in order to provide meaningful analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
Programming/coding skills (e.g. SQL, Power Apps, Python) are definite assets
CPA/CFA/MBA designation

Salary range is expected to be between
