Agilus is recruiting for a Quality Turnover Coordinator in the EPCM sector in Calgary, Alberta.
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Quality Turnover Coordinator to join our client's project team during the critical final stages of a modular industrial plant construction. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all quality documentation, inspections, and turnover activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with client expectations and contractual obligations.
Responsibilities:
Turnover Documentation Management: Lead the compilation and assembly of the final Turnover Package, ensuring all required documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with client specifications. Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors to gather, review, and validate QA/QC records, including inspection reports, test results, material certifications, and equipment data books. Ensure all documentation is signed off by relevant internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and archived in accordance with project and client requirements. Prepare and maintain walkdown binders and quality exhibits to support client turnover and final inspections.
Inspection Planning & Execution: Develop and maintain a detailed inspection plan to ensure all required inspections are scheduled and executed in a timely manner. Confirm that all necessary documentation (e.g., ITPs, checklists, drawings, procedures) is available and approved prior to inspection release. Identify and implement corrective actions for any gaps in inspection readiness or documentation quality.
Walkdown Coordination: Lead and coordinate final walkdown activities with the client, construction, and QA/QC teams. Ensure all systems and areas are walkdown-ready, with supporting documentation and exhibits prepared in advance. Facilitate the resolution of any issues identified during walkdowns, ensuring clear documentation and communication.
Deficiency & Punch List Management: Document all deficiencies observed during walkdowns with sufficient detail to ensure clear understanding and traceability. Manage and facilitate deficiency review meetings to validate punch items against contractual requirements. Assign responsibility for each punch item, establish forecasted closure dates, and track progress to resolution. Maintain and update the master punch list, ensuring timely closure and proper sign-offs from responsible parties and client representatives. Drive accountability and follow-up to ensure all punch items are resolved prior to final turnover.
Communication & Reporting: Serve as the primary point of contact for all turnover and quality documentation matters. Provide regular updates to project leadership on turnover progress, outstanding issues, and risk areas. Collaborate with engineering, construction, QA/QC, and client teams to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the turnover process.
This is a site-based role with regular interaction with field teams, subcontractors, and client representatives. May require extended hours or weekend work during peak turnover activities.
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of experience in a QA/QC or turnover coordination role on industrial construction projects.
Proven experience with modular construction, including fabrication, assembly, and installation of major equipment, piping, structural steel, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems, inspection processes, and turnover documentation requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document control systems.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
