Sports is critical to ensuring our military members physical and mental wellness. As a Varsity Coach, your competencies will be applied to formulating strategies, developing game and practice plans, and coaching athletes during classes, games, and practices within your designated sports portfolio. Mentor student-athletes and develop academic administrative practices that are conducive to the well-being of student athletes. Develop, implement and submit business, season and recruitment plans. Train, supervise, evaluate and recommend recruitment selections for assistant coaches, team managers and minor officials. Organize sports camps, clinics and workshops and special events. Liaise with applicable sport organizations/associations, committees, suppliers and media.

Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Physical and Health Education, Recreation, or a related field discipline, AND several years of experience in physical education, or a related field
AND
Successful completion of the Coaching Association of Canada-Multi-Sports modules requirement set by the Canadian Armed Forces Sports Office (HQ), by the end of probation period
Designation or certificate in associated sport portfolio
Experience
In coaching a sport at the collegiate level or higher
In sports administration
In counselling athletes on academic matters
In applying policies, procedures, and regulations
In budget administration
In personnel administration, as required
Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership

This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
