The Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) is a unique national military university that provides the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) with exemplary officers to serve Canada.
A member of Ontario University Athletics (OUA), the Athletic Department is looking for a motivated, energetic, passionate and caring individual to serve as the Head Coach of their Women’s and Men’s Fencing Program.
The Head Coach is responsible for all phases of the planning and implementation of an OUA Fencing program, including, but not limited to: Athlete Identification and Team Selection, Team and Individual Goal Setting, Practice/Competition Scheduling, Technical and Tactical Skill Development, Practice Planning, Budget Management including Fundraising, Day to Day Program Administration, Program Evaluation, Equipment and Uniform Purchase coordination, Summer Camps, all under strict compliance with RMC/CAF/OUA policies.
The successful candidate must value diversity of experiences and perspectives and promote a culture of inclusion and will play a significant role in supporting and enhancing the Athletic Department’s Safe Sport, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.
The position requires the successful candidate to work evenings and weekends.
Education, Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education, Recreation, or a related field
NCCP Advanced Coaching Diploma (ACD)
Experience
In coaching the sport of fencing at the collegiate level or higher
In sports administration
In counselling athletes on academic matters
In applying policies, procedures, and regulations
In budget administration
In personnel administration
Competencies
